Bike check: Richard Carapaz's KOM-winning Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO
Cannondale sent Richie a polka dot race bike to celebrate his victory in the King of the Mountains competition at the Tour de France
July 26, 2026
Richard Carapaz will ride a polka dot Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO into Paris this evening to celebrate his win in the Tour de France's King of the Mountains competition.
Richie's Paris race bike is the exact same model that he rode to victory up Orcières-Merlette on Stage 18 and Alpe d'Huez on Stage 20. Tonight, he will be crowned King of the Mountains and awarded the fabled polka dot jersey on the podium in Paris. To celebrate his achievement, Cannondale sent him a clean white LAB71 SuperSix EVO decked out in the Tour's famous red spots to race over Montmartre and onto the Champs-Élysées.
Richie will race the Tour's final stage on his Vision Metron 45 RS wheels. Ultrafast, light, and stable thanks to their wind-tunnel-refined all-carbon construction, they feature the Italian manufacturer's new PRS hub system with a 72-tooth helical clutch ratchet for better power engagement. The Metron 45 RS's 23-millimeter internal rim diameter guarantees better aerodynamic performance and rolling resistance when paired with Richie’s favorite Vittoria Corsa Pro tubeless tires. Corsa Pros provide unmatched cornering grip in wet and dry conditions and a fast, supple ride, even over cobbles like the ones Richie will speed over on the Champs-Élysées.
Richie will navigate the streets of Paris from his SystemBar Road carbon cockpit with its airfoil top and fully internal cable routing. SRAM decked out his RED AXS brake levers and cranks with polka dot decals.
The King of the Mountains' Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT 3 is also stickered in polka dot livery. After 3,245 kilometers of racing in hot, sweaty conditions, there is only one saddle that Richie trusts: his Fizik Antares R1 Light.
Richie always rides Wahoo Speedplay Aero pedals, so he can rip through the corners faster without worrying about clipping the ground.
At this Tour de France, Richie showed what Cannondale's ultimate race bike is meant to do. The LAB71 SuperSix EVO is built to soar up Alpine cols and fly down descents. The King of the Mountains loves his bike.
