Sacha Modolo's Bio
Sacha Modolo is the winningest rider on the 2018 EF Education First–Drapac p/b Cannondale squad. The Italian has won 49 races between 2010-2017. His first victory came on stage five of the Tour of Quinghai Lake during his second professional season. Sacha considers his two stage wins at the 2015 Giro d’Italia and a 2014 Tour de Suisse stage victory in front of Peter Sagan among his most important results.
Sacha’s greatest strength lies in his consistency. Since his first victory, he has had no fewer than three wins in any given year. While he’s regularly delivered results over the last seven seasons, the type of results he’s producing has changed significantly over time. A pure sprinter at the start of his career, Sacha has transformed himself into a more versatile rider – one who can chase results from a reduced bunch on the hiller days. He believes his 2017 Tour of Flanders result – sixth place – is a sign of his future potential.
Sacha has spent his career with Italian teams: Colnago-CSF Inox, Lampre-Merida and UAE. His move to #PinkArgyle for the 2018 season represents his first time racing for an English-speaking squad.
