Yes, these are the rice cakes. The ones our riders keep in jersey pockets during training…
Throughout the year, our EF Education First Pro Cycling team of 30 riders and over 100 staff get to travel to new cities, countries and even continents to take part in bike races and explore new parts of the world. For over 200 days a year, the team is spread out across the Globe, but there is one week a year where the entire team gets together in Girona, Spain for a week of training, bonding, and planning for the season ahead.
Take a look back to our full team camp in Girona, Spain at our full team camp.
Team dinners are always a moment that the team cherishes, whether it’s at a race or here at team camp. This year was extra special as we were able to celebrate our newly crowned Tour Colombia 2.1 champions together and share a toast to what has already been a fun season.
Every morning, our riders and staff are up early to get some all-important training miles in. Girona is a home away from home for many of our riders. While the mountains, hills, and roads might feel familiar to many of our riders they always make for stunning training rides.
Learning from each other
Team camp also gives our staff, riders and partners an opportunity to learn from each other. Whether it’s learning about the life of a chef for a pro cycling team, fine tuning your saddle and bike cleat position with the bike fitter, or learning to communicate across language barriers you quickly realize that everyone has something valuable to offer to the team.
