“I really believe in what EF fosters. When I was 15, I traveled to Belgium to race cyclocross. That first trip to Europe at such an influential age really opened my eyes to the world beyond the US borders. I believe it is absolutely essential that we actively cultivate a knowledge and understanding of cultures beyond our own in order to be good global citizens.”
Alex Howes has spent his entire career in argyle, save for a single season in which team boss Jonathan Vaughters farmed him out to a French team to “toughen him up a bit.” A Colorado native, Alex considers EF Education First his hometown team and is proud to pull on #PinkArgyle in 2019, his 13th season with the team.
Alex has long shown promise at the Ardennes classics and has made no secret of his ambition to wear the stars and stripes jersey as a national champion. The 31-year-old will again target both the Ardennes and the US National Road Championships. In his spare time, you can find Alex roaming the American West, either in his old pickup truck or on his bike.
