Bike check: Max Walker's Cannondale SuperSlice for the Tour de France TTT
Brit will make his Tour debut this evening in Barcelona
July 4, 2026
Max Walker is ready for the biggest race of his life.
This evening in Barcelona, he will sprint down the team time trial start ramp with his EF Education-EasyPost teammates and speed through the massive crowd in a race against the clock to Montjuïc.
Max and his teammates will use Cannondale's new SuperSlice for the Tour TTT. Released at the start of the 2026 season, it already proved its speed at the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes TTT, where EF Education-EasyPost raced to third to defend Alex Baudin's yellow jersey. Every square centimeter of the frame has been engineered for absolute aero efficiency with CFD analysis and wind tunnel testing. Its sculpted airfoils will arrive to the start line in a remarkably lightweight package – set to fly up the two climbs on course. Nimble geometry will help Max and his teammates push through corners on the limit as they try to set the fastest time on the technical Barcelona city circuit.
Vittoria Corsa Speed tires will grip the asphalt as they hurtle through the turns and float over the pavement, speeding down Barcelona's long, straight promenades. Max and his teammates are riding Vision Metron TFW rear discs with Vision Metron 91SL front wheels for the Barcelona TTT. Every hundredth of a second is going to count at the finish. Our setup is optimized for out-and-out speed.
Max will tuck into his Vision Metron TFE extensions and push the tempo through the paceline to get Richard Carapaz and Ben Healy to the final climb as fast as possible. His Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt 3 will help him control his watts as he and his teammates rocket through the crowds.
Max will push a massive 68-tooth chainring paired with a 10-36 cassette. His SRAM RED drivetrain will fire through the gears so Max can push efficiently right around the course, churning the cranks from his Fizik Aeris LD R1 Light saddle.
Wahoo Speedplay Aero pedals provide best-in-the-peloton cornering clearance, so Max can get back on the power faster out of the turns. They will shave seconds off EF Education-EasyPost's final time with their dimpled, golf-ball-like bottom side.
Max is raring to go for his Tour de France debut. This will be the most exciting race of his life. Before tonight's TTT, check out the full specs of his Cannondale LAB71 SuperSlice.
