Bike check: Magdeleine Vallieres’ new rainbow-striped Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO

World champion will race her new bike at Strade Bianche

March 6, 2026

Magdeleine Vallieres is going to race a very special bike onto the sterrato at Strade Bianche.

Cannondale decked out Mags’ brand-new 5th gen LAB71 SuperSix EVO in rainbow stripes to celebrate her world championship win. A maple-leaf motif embossed in blue on her top tube reminds Mags of her homeland.

“I think it is the nicest looking bike in the whole world,” Mags said. “It’s so special. Every time I get excited to go to the races with it.”

Mags has great ambitions for Strade Bianche. She and her teammates are going to attack the white gravel roads and race for the podium in the Piazza del Campo in Siena.

“Strade Bianche is a special race,” Mags said. “It is one of the craziest and hardest and most classic races. To race it with the rainbow jersey and this bike is going to make it really, really special this year. I think we have a very strong team. For sure we want to win.”

Mags’ new race bike is faster than ever – everywhere. Ultralight carbon tubes sculpted in the wind tunnel for optimized aerodynamics provide the ultimate balance of stiffness and compliance for nimble handling and rapid accelerations.

“Every corner feels faster,” Mags said. “I especially notice it on the descents.”

Mags’ bike is outfitted with Vision Metron 45 RS wheels. Handbuilt in Italy with full-carbon rims and spokes and the new V-1000 hub, Vision’s newest Racing Series wheels feature a larger internal diameter than their predecessors for improved aerodynamics, especially when paired with wider tires. Mags will race 30-mm Vittoria Corsa Pros with Air-Liners at Strade. Silky smooth on the asphalt, they offer great grip and puncture resistance. Air-Liners add extra insurance. In case Mags does flat, she’ll be able to push on until she can change the wheel. Air-Liners also enhance bead stability and cornering, especially when run with lower pressures.

Mags’ drivetrain is SRAM’s RED AXS, the lightest groupset in the peloton. Its fast, intuitive shifting will ensure that she won’t miss a beat on the sterrato, with 52-39 chainrings, Wahoo SPEEDPLAY AERO pedals, and the rainbow anodized 10-36 cassette that SRAM gave to her to celebrate her world championship win.

Cannondale’s new minimalist carbon cockpit, the SystemBar Road SL, provides Mags with crisp, immediate steering. She will be able to check her race data at a glance from the high-res screen of her Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT 3.

On Saturday, the numbers our world champion will really care about will be on the results sheet. Mags hopes to see a #1 beside her name, or one of her teammates’ after Strade Bianche.
