Bike check: Luke Lamperti’s Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO Gen 5

Team’s new race bike will make its cobbles debut at Omloop Nieuwsblad

February 27, 2026

Luke Lamperti will race his brand new Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO Gen 5 onto the cobbles for the first time at Omloop Nieuwsblad.

EF Pro Cycling’s new race bike is built to go faster everywhere. Luke wants to take his straight over the Muur van Geraardsbergen with the front group and sprint for the win in Ninove.

“I'm really looking forward to the Omloop,” Luke said. “These are my favorite races of the year. I love the way Belgium gets behind them. They’re just epic races. Our Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO is the perfect bike for the job.”

The LAB71 SuperSix EVO Gen 5 is engineered to rocket out of corners and over steep bergs. Constructed from exclusive Series 0 carbon, it is lighter and faster than its predecessors. Aero tubes perfected in the windtunnel provide outstanding stiffness where it counts for instant power transfer.

Luke’s bike is outfitted with SRAM Red AXS componentry, the lightest electronic groupset in the peloton. SRAM’s intuitive eTap system shifts close to the speed of thought, so Luke can always find the right gear, whether he is powering up the Molenberg or kicking it down into the 10 in a sprint. The American classics specialist pairs 170-mm cranks with 56-43 chainrings and a 10-36 cassette. He rides Wahoo SPEEDPLAY AERO pedals.

SRAM Red AXS is especially well suited to racing in Belgium. The Orbit Damper in the rear derailleur keeps tension on the chain over the roughest terrain, so Luke won’t waste a watt on the cobbles.

Luke’s tubeless 30-mm Vittoria Corsa Pro tires with Air-Liners will roll fast and keep traction over the roughest roads in Flanders. With Vision Metron 45 RS wheels, Luke is confident that he’s got the fastest set-up for the classics. Uberlight and responsive, the all-carbon wheels were refined in the wind tunnel for aerodynamic efficiency with 23-mm internal rims engineered for 30-mm tires. They feature Vision’s new V-1000 hubs, which use a new 72-tooth ratchet ring drive system.

Luke will navigate the Vlaamse Ardennen from his SystemBar Road SL. Cannondale’s new minimalist carbon cockpit provides crisp, immediate steering. Luke will watch the climbs on the Omloop parcours approach on his Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT 3. Over the Molenberg, Haaghoek, Leberg, Berendries, Muur van Geraardsbergen, and Bosberg, he’ll be in the zone, chain flying over the cogs, as he shifts on instinct. On the cobbles, he is one with his bike.
