As is the case every year, families, friends and acquaintances from around Flanders, and from all over Belgium, gathered in Gent, Belgium for the ceremonial Opening Weekend – the official start to the Classics season.
While we might not have come away with the win we wanted, what an amazing weekend it was nonetheless. We can’t wait for the races to come.
Here’s a look back at our first weekend of racing in Flanders.
"It was good to be back. The atmosphere here in these races is always special, having the family come to the start is also really nice." - Jens Keukeleire
"The young riders make mistakes which is normal, but they listen and that is really good and they are eager to learn. Now it's kind of my job, next to performing, to help guide the young guys and this way we all get better." - Sep Vanmarcke
"I have to say, this weekend's success was how the guys rode together. They did incredibly well in that respect. It was a very good team I saw riding here, and it gives me confidence for the races ahead." - Andreas Klier
